Not much to say about this meal, other than “Mmm Mmm, Good!”  Goes well with a green veggie like asparagus, and a nice sauce.  I threw together a spicy soy barbeque.  Such good flavors!

Sesame Crusted Ahi

ahi tuna steaks

salt

garlic powder

cayenne pepper

nutmeg

ground ginger

olive oil

sesame seeds

Drizzle olive oil over the tuna steaks and lightly, yet evenly, sprinkle each spice on top.  Flip the fish over and repeat.  Then press the sesame seeds into the top and bottom of the fish to evenly coat. Drizzle olive oil in a skillet and turn to medium high heat.  Once heated, carefully place each piece of tuna into the skillet.  Cook about a minute on each side.

Wasbabi Mashed Potatoes

6 small red potatoes (peeled)

1/4 cup half and half

1/2 tsp minced garlic

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp wasabi paste

1/2 cup sour cream

salt

Boil the potatoes till tender.  Drain and transfer to a mixing bowl.  Melt butter and garlic in a skillet over medium heat.  Add the wasabi paste, and lastly the half and half.  Stir to combine and pour over the potatoes.  Add the sour cream and blend with an electric mixer.  If the potatoes are too thick add a splash of milk and continue to blend.  Add salt to taste.

Wasabi paste may vary from brand to brand.  Some may be spicier than others, so adjust as necessary.
