Sharing what I make in the kitchen is almost just as fun as eating it!  I specifically made this bread, to give away, but not without a tiny taste test!  I made a bunch of sandwiches with it for some volunteer workers at our church.  It was such a simple recipe that yielded a savory, hearty bread.  It was practically asking me to layer some corned beef in-between it’s slices!  I added some provolone and some Guinness “beer-naise” too.  Not bad!

3 cups flour

1/2 tsp salt

4 tsp baking powder

1/3 cup oats

2/3 cup brown sugar

12 oz Guinness Beer

Stir together all the dry ingredients.  Stir in the beer with a wooden spoon or spatula.  Guinness comes in 11.2 oz bottles, so pour the whole thing in, then open another and pour in a little less than a shot.  Enjoy the rest while your baking!  Butter and line a bread loaf pan with parchment.  Transfer the dough to the baking pan and sprinkle a few extra oats on top.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes.  When a skewer inserted comes out clean and the top is  nice and golden.  Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
